UBUNTU for Android

Ubuntu for Android? Yeah right...Ubuntu backed by Canonical already introduced their latest innovation which for me is really cool.

Now multi-core Android phones can be PCs too. Ubuntu for Android enables high-end Android handsets to run Ubuntu, the world's favourite free PC desktop operating system. So users get the Android they know on the move, but when they connect their phone to a monitor, mouse and keyboard, it becomes a PC.

Can Ubuntu keep up with the smartphone competition today? Well this is a battle between Apple's iOs, Blackberry' RIM, Android Phones and Windows Phone 8.

How to replace boot animation in Cherry Mobile Flare

I made this tutorial for others like me who had hard time replacing it...
I found a tutorial on Youtube about it and i followed but unfortunately it doesn't work for me..
heres what happened Root Explorer still cant delete, rename, copy and paste in the FOLDER /system/media
even if I'm rooted already...

so...

This is how i manage to replace the boot animation....

NOTE: Do this at your own risk...I will not be held responsible for any damage incurred to your device

if you decided to take the risk then follow this....
  1. Your phone must be rooted (search for it if you dont know how)
  2. Phone Drivers Must be installed on your computer.
  3. Download  AIO Flasher on this link http://www.mediafire.com/?d9bft6w3g3tttf9 credits to fonehacker@xda
  4. Extract your downloaded file
  5. Enable USB Debugging on your phone  (Go to settings >> developer options>> check USB debugging)
  6. Boot on "fastboot" mode  ( TURN OFF your phone and after that  press and hold POWER BUTTON and VOLUME UP for a couple of seconds till you see a green display...
  7. Open AIO Flasher on the downloaded file that you've extracted.
  8. Connect your USB Cable from your phone to your computer.
  9. copy your downloaded bootanimation.zip (note dont change the name) Heres what i used http://dl.dropbox.com/u/105320051/bootanimation.zip (or search on the web)
  10. on the right side look for "Boot Animation Changer" click "Select file" toggle Alternate Method(if permissions error) then finally click "flash".
  11. wait for sometime and then notice on the console output (the cmd emulator) if it goes back to the path that you use to open your file for example: C:\Users\MyPC\Desktop\flareTweaks\stuff\tools> then you now need to reboot
  12. To reboot look for "Reboot Menu" select "From Fastboot" then click "Reboot" wait for sometime until it will completely boot up... if in case it stays on the green screen just simply remove the battery and power on your device...
  13. YOUR'E DONE....i hope this helps...
